Read, Play, Write has now entered the “Play” phase.
I am off to New Zealand for three months, detouring in Australia to ring in the 2012 New Year (and possibly the last year of our lives—Mayans, anyone?), before embarking on an adventure. Therefore, I will be intending to revamp the upcoming blogs, at least until April, to be of a more travelistic nature, but given how I was supposed to be meditative last year and that amounted to writing about tennis and being scared of black swans, it’s hard to say if my intentions will be realized.
For those of you new to the blog, welcome. I am a spazzy (though someone used the term “sassy” and I like that better) graduate student who likes to escape from real life by taking a leave of absence from New England winters by going someplace warm. Last year it was New Mexico; this year it is the other side of the world. Next year, perhaps, it will be the sun.
For those of you returning, THANK YOU. I’m sorry I dropped off the blogging sphere, but it was all in an effort to (if you’ll recall) finish my thesis. Prognosis: not finished. The Bright Side: I started my third rewrite in October, and am now almost finished with a rough draft! To me, that’s close enough to being done to start blogging again. Plus, it’s the beginning of a new year, and with the new year comes new resolutions! (or, more likely, old resolutions that have failed)
So here we go. Journey onward.
